I'll stamp all over 'credible boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is really happening.
